Letās be real ā chess is tactics. Period.
You can have the best opening prep, a killer endgame technique, and still lose because you missed one fork. One pin. One sneaky check. Thatās how brutal this game is.
So if you want to win more games, you need to sharpen your tactical vision.
Hereās how:
š„ Solve puzzles every day. Not just random ones ā set a goal. 10-20 puzzles daily, increasing in difficulty over time. Your brain needsĀ repetition.
ā”ļø Blitz out tactical patterns.Ā Drills like mate-in-ones, forks, skewers, and discovered attacks ā speedĀ matters. The faster you recognize them, the more automatic they become.
š Practice blindfold tactics. Yes, itās hard. But visualizing positions in your head strengthens calculation and board awareness. Start simple, then level up.
š£ Always ask: Whatās hanging? Whatās the opponentās threat? Before everymove, train yourself to check for loose pieces, threats, and tactical shots. The best players do this instinctively.
š Play more classical games. Or at least Rapid.Ā You canāt sharpen your tactics in blitz, and definitely not in bullet. Slow games force you to calculate properly. Yes, itās hard. Yes, it can be boring. But skipping this step is why your tactics collapse under pressure.
And hereās the truth ā tactics arenāt just something you ālearnā once. Theyāre a muscle. They need training. Daily. Relentlessly.
Thatās why Iām doing my own marathon. Not just for you, but for me.
Because I need this work too. I want to sharpen my calculation skills, calculate faster, and turn every position into a damn battlefield. Every single day. And the only way to do that?
Training.
So, are you in?
Join me in my 21-day Anti-Blunder Marathon, where weāll train together for 30 minutes daily.
Letās grind. Let ās fight.
Letās win.
